Our Team
Our dedicated team of parents are juggling parenting and, utilising their unique skills and passion to move the work of Parents for Climate Aotearoa forward. Our team is strongly values based and heart led. Meet some of our incredible leaders below.
ALICIA HALL
Founder and National Co-Coordinator
Alicia founded Parents for Climate Aotearoa in 2019 to empower parents to take action on climate change. She has a background in mental health and wellbeing, community and environmental work and is currently studying towards a Postgrad Cert in Leading Change for Good.
Alicia is a strong advocate for Climate Justice, recognising the interconnection between social, environmental and climate issues. Alicia mentors fellow parents on how to talk with friends, family and children about climate change.
OLIVIA HYATT
National Co-Coordinator
Olivia joined Parents for Climate Aotearoa shortly after it's conception in 2019. She has a background in climate science, geology (PhD) and agriculture. Olivia is focused on system wide change that enables communities to change for a better future for our families. Holding and practising hope is central to her approach.
Olivia is an advocate for practical solutions for rural communities that reflect the complexities and interconnectedness of land use, with a focus on the co-benefits that improve community and environment health and resilience.
KATY ANDERSON
National Team Member
Katy joined the Parents for Climate Aotearoa team in 2021 when she felt the actions carried out on a personal level weren't going to be enough and was no longer able to stand by and watch continued inaction by the main contributors to climate change.
Katy brings great energy, enthusiasm and creativity to our team. She is a force of nature! Katy has an administration finance background both through employment and community work. She is the person we go to who gets things done! Katy has a strong sense of community and whānau, she is determined to ensure we, as parents in decision-making roles, make the best possible choices to secure a liveable climate for all our children.
JENN HADFIELD O'CONNELL
National Team Member
Jenn is a believer in creativity, people-focused change, and providing a voice for our tamariki, all of which brought her to Parents for Climate Aotearoa in 2021.
Jenn wants to create inspiration and pathways for people at different stages of their climate advocacy, and her main climate passions are building a circular economy, encouraging local action, and transforming transport (she leads a cycling advocacy group in Ngāmotu/New Plymouth and loves to talk cycling!
DANIELLE KENNEDY
National Team Member
Danielle, a mum of three, joined parents for climate in 2021 seeking a supportive like-minded community of action.
With a background in environmental science & sociology she’s worked to drive sustainable change for over 20 years with local & central government. Her areas of expertise lie in waste prevention, behavioural insights and emission reduction strategies.
Danielle is a champion of community-based solutions & collective action. She brings a faith-based perspective to caring for creation & our future generations.
